“Sculptor Paul DiPasquale is donating on permanent loan a scaled-down version of his statue “Neptune” to The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen in Henrico.

This smaller version created in bronze, which measures 9 feet tall to the tip of the trident (including base) and weighs 900 pounds, was completed in 2004 by DiPasquale to plan the proportions of the full scale statue. The full scale version measures 34 feet tall (including base) and weighs 12 ½ tons.

While on loan, this sculpture will be available for sale with proceeds benefiting The Center. The sculpture will be installed in the crepe myrtle garden at the front entrance to The Center on Thursday at 10am.

Charles Luck Stone Center is donating a pair of two ton stone blocks upon which the statue will sit. The blocks each measure 24″ x 60″ x 24″ tall forming a 48″ x 60″ base. They have been “sawed” on the tops and ends and have “rough” sides which will compliment the overall appearance of the statue.”

New details about a baby boy found abandoned more than a month ago in Henrico county. The child will be put up for adoption soon but police still want your help in finding his parents.

At Henrico Social Services, the process will soon begin to terminate the parents’ rights so the baby boy can be adopted. Both officials there and police say it’s important the child’s mother come forward.
