An S.B.Cox storage building at Hatcher and Williamsburg burned dramatically last night.

At this time the cause is not known.

The building, in the 5200 block of Hatcher Street, just south of Williamsburg Road near the Henrico County line, is a large, steel-siding structure, and the first crews on scene found heavy fire and heard small explosions coming from the structure.

Once it was determined that there were storage tanks on site for acetylene, which is used in welding torches, Richmond firefighters called for more crews from the city as well as Henrico.

Traffic was still blocked as of about 3pm. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that firefighters arrived within minutes and there were no injuries.
