Pair of black dogs wandering around Fulton
Has anyone seen the pair of black dogs wandering around lower Fulton off of Jennie Scher rd. and E. Richmond rd? They both look to be mixed, one female, and one male, the male looks like he has mange around the eyes. They both have no collars and seem to have no fear of cars. If anyone knows who these dogs belong to, could you please contact them. I would hate to see these dogs get hit by a car. I’ll post pictures the next time I see them.

Parvo at the Church Hill Dog Park?
I have heard from several sources that the Church Hill Dog Park has Parvo. How does a dog park get Parvo? According to my veterinarian, an infected dog with Parvo sheds the virus and it can live in the soil for years. You can then get the virus on your shoes or the dogs feet and the moment your dog licks your shoe or it’s paw he or she has the chance of becoming infected. Because Parvo is a virus antibiotics are useless against it, therefore prevention is key. True or not this is a good reminder to make sure your dog is fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered before taking your dog to the dog park. Prevention will save you a lot of heartache in the end.

The Big Belly Solar Trash Compactor….. Is it the solution to the Fulton Hill Business District Trash Problem?
Just thinking a little in the future but these solar powered, combined trash cans/compactors might be great for the business district! The solar compacting means pick-up is not required as often, saving the planet by using less fuel in garbage trucks and beautifying places prone to overflowing trash cans. I think there is already one on the MCV campus. Check out more info. No harm in dreaming, right?

Good News, Natural Gas prices are going down in Richmond!
As seen in the Richmond Times Dispatch
Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones announced an 18-percent reduction today in the city’s purchased gas cost, which he said will result in an 11-percent gas bill reduction for a typical residential customer.
Jones said in a statement that the decrease came as a result of a decline in natural gas prices over the last several months.
