And the winner for Democratic candidate for Governor is…

Comment now »

deedsState senator Creigh Deeds was the overwhelming winner of Tuesday night’s democratic primary for governor.
Creigh Deeds will now face the Republican nominee Bob McDonnell in the race to replace Governor Tim Kaine. Deeds won with nearly 50 percent of the vote.

Former DNC chair Terry McAuliffe received 26 percent and former house democratic leader Brian Moran came in third with 24 percent. McAuliffe and Moran voiced their support for Deed’s last night. Deed’s went on to address his opponent Bob McDonnell by saying “There is a very stark choice, whether Virginia moves forward in the tradition of Mark Warner and Tim Kaine or whether we move backwards with the disastrous economic policies of Bob McDonnell and George W. Bush.”

For more information on Creigh Deeds please visit his website.
