Dominion looking to raise rates AGAIN?!

dominionpowerlogo

If you ask me I think we are being nickel and dimed to death. Dominion Virginia Power is seeking yet another rate increase of 6.9%. That 6.9% translates to about $7.45 per customer. According to Dominion the rate increase would help pay for new power plants, substations, power lines and setting up energy conservation programs.

They are aware however that many people are having troubles paying their bills. There solution to that is the EnergyShare fuel-assistance program. Please be aware that there is an income requirement to qualify for assistance.

    Again? Give me a break!

Dominion Power is a heavily-regulated utility … and you can be sure they’ll get less than 50% of what they need to maintain infrastructure and service.

Tuck your comment away and, 10 years from now, when you have grid failures and brown outs and three weeks’ duration to restore power [if you have any power at all], rue the day when you mouthed off.

We all want free energy. But until that day comes, kiss the ground that you live under the auspices of a well-managed utility.

Blackbeered if you go to the RTD and read the comments I think the majority would disagree with you.

Dominion will get 100% of what they need and last time they raised rates it was based on increased fuel prices, which are now way down. So why do they need even more money?
