What does the last sign say?
Duh. I clicked the flickr link, not the one here. Never mind.
I’m still confused. I guess they were dropping lotto tickets. I get them in my yard all the time.
Yeah, my son loves the signs but they don’t appeal to me aesthetically. Also the whole “trying to appeal to the lottery ticket crowd and their superstitions” is …I don’t know, insulting….
Even more insulting though are the abundance of litterbugs in our neighborhood. I don’t know why it is that some folks were raised to think throwing your big gulp cup, chip bags, cigarette boxes, fastfood bags, beer bottles and so forth is acceptable but there is no shortage of litter here. We routinely pick up bag fulls of trash on our corner.
All in all though, the signs have now become part of the neighborhood and I’m certainly not clammering for their removal….
Thank you “8 years in Fulton” for taking the time and energy to routinely pick up bag fulls of trash. You are also instilling in your son the value of service and a clean in environment.
There is no shortage of litter here. The “so forth” you speak of include baby diapers, spent condoms, and needles. It’s a real mess and y’all are exceptional citizens for picking up the litter.
The garbage is an insult to all who live here and any effort to excuse it away earns the timely “lipstick on a pig” response. In my opinion the most abused areas are the bus stops on Williamsburg Road and business district, Stony Run Road near Gillies Creek and at the Disc Golf course, and at Powhatan Hill near the pool and ball diamond.
There are other good citizens who routinely pick up litter and without their efforts we would probably be buried. The locally based YWAM group has “adopted” Government Road and it looks so much better.
Salute to all those good citizens who work tirelessly to keep Fulton clean!
