urban forest threatened
Leading with a quote by Fulton artist Paul DiPasquale, today’s RTD has a look at the city’s “complaint-driven tree-maintenance policy [which] threatens the urban forest“. City crews are cutting down 1,500 to 2,000 trees a year (often in response to neighbor complaints), while planting only 300 new trees.

Paul and Chris and I (and hopefully other Fulton neighbors) often plant trees around the neighborhood DIY-style. When the city cut down some very decrepit trees on our block , they told us they would replant the trees for $200.
Seems like it would be more coste ffective to just plant and maintain our own.
Thanks for the posting John.
